Doubles: Granollers & Zeballos Ousted on Day of Upsets

10.04.2026

Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard continued their hot form Friday at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, upsetting top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 on a tough day for high seeds in the quarter-finals.

Eighth seeds Andreozzi and Guinard, who last month won their first team title at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, held firm in the match tie-break to deny the top seeds a shot at their first title of the year.

Unseeded Monegasque Hugo Nys and Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin also advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over third seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten.

Sixth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz claimed a 6-4, 7-6(1) win over second seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, who won seven titles last year but have yet to lift a trophy in 2026.

Completing a day of upsets, fifth seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic defeated fourth seeds and Australian Open champions Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski 6-4, 3-6, 11-9.
