Gaël Monfils and Moïse Kouamé awarded wild cards

27.03.2026

Monaco, 27 March 2026 – Following the first two main draw wild cards awarded to Stan Wawrinka and Matteo Berrettini, the organisers of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, taking place from 4 to 12 April 2026 on the prestigious courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, have announced that the final two invitations have been granted to Gaël Monfils and Moïse Kouamé.

Two generations will meet in Monaco: one preparing to step onto the courts of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters for the final time, the other ready to play his first rallies at the highest level on clay courts of the Monte Carlo Country Club.

Gaël Monfils, a final appearance in Monaco

This year’s edition will carry special significance with the presence of Gaël Monfils, one of the most charismatic players of his generation.
The Frenchman has announced that the 2026 season will be the last of his professional career, after more than two decades on tour. A former world No. 6 and winner of 13 ATP titles, he remains one of the most popular figures in modern tennis. A finalist at the Monte-Carlo Masters in 2016, where he lost to Rafael Nadal (7–5, 5–7, 6–0), he is among the few French players to have reached the final in Monaco.
His appearance this year is part of what is shaping up to be a farewell tour for this showman of the circuit, whose energy and spectacular style have captivated generations of fans.

Moïse Kouamé, the rising French prospect

At just 17, Moïse Kouamé will make his first appearance in the main draw of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
The young Frenchman has impressed in early 2026, becoming the first player born in 2009 to reach the semi-finals of a Challenger tournament in Lille. After winning his first Masters 1000 match in Miami, he confirmed his status as one of the most promising young talents in French tennis.

Draw ceremony: official kick-off at the Monte-Carlo Bay

The 119th edition will officially get underway with the draw ceremony on Friday 3 April at 5:00 pm at the Monte-Carlo Bay, in the presence of Carlos Alcaraz, winner of the 2025 edition.

This ceremony will be broadcast live on the tournament’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/rolexmcmasters and on Monaco Info https://www.facebook.com/MonacoInfo
