Mannarino, Struff, Klizan Book Main Draw Spots

Adrian Mannarino, Jan-Lennard Struff, Martin Klizan, Carlos Berlocq, Andrey Kuznetsov, Renzo Olivo and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez all qualified on Sunday for the main draw of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters.

Top seed Mannarino gained a main draw spot for the third straight year when he knocked out No. 13 seed Yuichi Sugita 6-3, 6-4 in 82 minutes in the qualifying round.

Second seed Jan-Lennard Struff lost five of his first service points (24/29) in a 6-3, 6-2 win over eighth seed Pierre-Hugues Herbert over 59 minutes.

Third seed Martin Klizan lost just five of his service points in a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Sergiy Stakhovsky in 79 minutes and will take his place in the main draw for the first time since 2015 (and third time overall).

Fourth seed Carlos Berlocq, who has a 2-1 record in ATP World Tour clay-court finals, swept past Roberto Carballes Baena in 84 minutes.

Sixth seed Andrey Kuznetsov fought his way past No. 11 seed Mikhail Youzhny 3-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(5) in two hours and 41 minutes. Youzhny reached the 2014 semi-finals.

Renzo Olivo, the No. 12 seed, silenced a largely pro-Simone Bolelli crowd to compete in his second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament (also BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells) after a 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-2 win in two hours and 40 minutes.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, the No. 14 seed, recovered from a 2-4 deficit in the deciding set to beat fifth seed Damir Dzumhur 0-6, 6-4, 7-5 in two hours and eight minutes.
