Press release

Monaco, Thursday 18th March 2021

Within just weeks of the beginning of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, organised from 10th to 18th April 2021 behind closed doors due to the current global health situation, the ATP has published today the official list of players participating in the 114th edition of the legendary ATP Masters 1000 tournament, which traditionally opens the European clay season.

With the presence of 9 out of 10 of the top world players, and 18 out of the top 20, this year’s Draw is particularly impressive.

“After the cancellation of the Tournament in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted that the 2021 edition can once again play host to the best players on the ATP circuit. I would like to thank the players in particular, who will once again be back on the clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club for their loyalty and support.

The Baroness Elizabeth-Ann de Massy, who passed away in 2020, will be very much in our thoughts. Playing an emblematic role in Monegasque tennis, not only was she President of the Monte-Carlo Country Club but also that of the Monaco Tennis Federation as well as the President of the Organising Committee of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters”, commented the Tournament Director, Zeljko Franulovic, when announcing the list of players.

Everything has been done to make sure the necessary health measures are put in place to ensure the safety of all participants and organisers, and in accordance with the French authorities and support of the Monegasque Government.

Deprived of spectator stands for the second year running, our faithful public will be able to follow the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters matches live on television channels which will be broadcasting the tournament throughout the world, such as Eurosport and C8 (Canal Plus) for France, Sky Italia, Eurosport Russia, Sky Deutschland, Tennis Channel US, CCTTV for China…

Available in French, English and Italian, the website will provide a maximum of information in real time, as well as the various social networks, and the official app of the Tournament.

The 2021 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters tournament kicks off on Friday 9th April with the Draw at 6.30 pm in the presence of the Italian Fabio Fognini, the winner of the 2019 edition.

This year’s event, with its unprecedented provisions, will prioritise remote reporting of the matches, but in no way will it diminish the enthusiasm and passion of tennis lovers.

Rendez-vous from 10th to 18th April 2021 for the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
