Novak Djokovic (N°1), Roger Federer (N°2) and Rafael Nadal (N°3) The Conquest of the Monte-Carlo Tournament
Paris, Wednesday 18th March 2015. It was during a press lunch in Paris, at the Pavillon Elysées LeNôtre, that Zeljko Franulovic, the Tournament Director, unveiled the outlines of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters 2015, in the presence of media representatives and the principal sponsors of the event.
Organized by the SMETT (Société Monégasque pour l’Exploitation du Tournoi de Tennis), the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, which will take place from 11th to 19th April 2015 in the legendary setting of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, is the first European tournament in the prestigious category of ATP World Tour Masters 1000.
This presentation was the occasion to announce the final list of the 45 players that automatically enter the Main Draw with, at their head, the Serb Novak Djokovoc, the world No1 player and recent winner of the Australian Open, the Swiss Roger Federer (No.2), winner of the 2014 Davis Cup and record-holder of Grand Slam titles and the Spaniard Rafael Nadal (No.3) nine-time winner at Roland-Garros and eight-time winner at Monte-Carlo.
The Draw will be organized for the first time in the new building of the Yacht Club de Monaco on Saturday 11th April at 11.30 am in the presence of the Swiss Stan Wawrinka (No.7), title holder and winner of the 2014 Davis Cup with his compatriot Roger Federer.
In addition to this draw will be the 7 players who come out of the qualifiers, as well as the 4 remaining Wild Cards, making a total of 56 players. The Draw will be followed at 12.30 by a mini-tennis exhibition match between two of the best world players on the upper decks of the Monaco Yacht Club, the emblematic building of the Monaco pleasure harbour, designed by Lord Norman Foster and inaugurated on 20th June 2014.

For this 109th edition, the line-up promises to be as exceptional as ever with the presence of 21 players among the top 25 in the ATP ranking, with a substantial participation of the new emerging generation, with at the top the Canadian Milos Raonic (No.6), the Croatian Marin Cilic (No.10) and the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (No.11).
For the French players, those present will be: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (No.13), Gilles Simon (No.14), Richard Gasquet (No.25), Julien Benneteau (No.28), Jérémy Chardy (No.34) and Adrian Mannarino (No.38).
An edition dedicated to generosity
Continuing its commitment to charitable causes, this year’s Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters is supporting the initiative taken by the Croat Marin Cilic, the last winner of the US Open, entitled “Marin & Friends”, organized on Centre Court on Saturday 11th April at 2.30 pm.
The world no.10 player and Monaco resident wished to give his support to two Monegasque charities: “Special Olympics” under the patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlène of Monaco and “Fight Aids Monaco” presided over by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco.
For this exceptional exhibition match, Marin will be joined by his friends, including players in the Top 10 and former champions.
